Thank you for your hard work! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, from today's Tokyo time overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 149.75. This morning USD/JPY started around 149.15, but during Tokyo time, both the U.S. and Japan monetary policy announcements tomorrow are expected to keep rates unchanged, causing a substantial short-cover rally. It is currently climbing toward the 150 level.
Also, with Ms. Takai (Takahashi) being named as a potential new LDP president who is cautious about rate hikes, this may be one factor behind the yen’s depreciation.
From the morning levels, it appears to be about 60 pips higher as we move to overseas time.
For now, it seems prudent not to enter trades while this recent rise pauses; riding the next move would be better. It’s a high price to buy, and I don’t have the courage to sell!
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements around the 16:00 London market open
● Movements after the 21:30 US housing starts release
● Movements around the 22:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Be mindful of headlines related to the Trump administration
● Be mindful of headlines related to BoJ rate hikes
Tonight’s 1-minute scalping will likely find opportunities around each market open, plus after the 21:30 US housing starts release. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” handling according to the theory should be fine. However, today the indicator power is weaker.
Also, the 15-minute chart scalping focused on shorts only could present opportunities if position adjustments and long profit-taking occur ahead of tomorrow’s US-Japan policy announcements, but since both sides are expected to hold rates, be cautious about chasing and rather rotate in small increments.
