[3/7 USD/JPY Scalping Points]
Good work everyone! Let’s go ahead with USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, here is today’s Tokyo session overview.
Currently USD/JPY is around 147.60. This morning it started around 147.80, but during Tokyo time it faced a sharp drop exceeding the 2 yen range from last night, staying in a low range with no clear direction.
The major reasons for the sharp decline appear to be yen buying to hedge Trump tariff risks, and the expectation of additional BoJ rate hikes being revived due to wage demands of over 6% in this year’s spring wage negotiations.
From the morning level, there is a small rebound of about 20 pips as we move into overseas hours. Now, will European and London markets push it lower further?
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements around the London market open near 17:00
● Movements after the US employment report at 22:30
● Movements around the New York market open near 23:00 (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Watch for remarks from US politicians
● Watch for headlines related to the Trump administration
● Watch for headlines related to BoJ additional rate hikes
Tonight, the 1-minute chart scalping will likely present opportunities around the market openings as well as after the 22:30 US Employment data release. For users of the "1-Minute Scalping Club," handling according to theory should be fine.
Additionally, the 15-minute chart scalping strategy, which focuses on short positions, could offer opportunities if prices dig lower during overseas hours. However, expect some retracement before the US Employment data, so be cautious around that time.
Now, the overseas session is almost starting!
