Good job everyone! Alright, let's do a Dollar-Yen scalp again tonight!
First, the overview during Tokyo time today.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 149.60. This morning it started around 149.70, but during Tokyo time it slid to around 149.10 on Deputy Governor Uchida’s comment, “If the outlook is realized, rates will rise,” yet it held firm and retraced back to the mid-149s.
Amid expectations of tariffs from the Trump administration in the U.S., risk-off dollar and yen buying mix, making it hard to determine a direction. It seems likely to hand over to overseas session at roughly the morning levels.
Nevertheless, stocks are weak, aren’t they?
Now, here are the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalp.
● Movements around the London market open near 17:00
● Movements after the U.S. Personal Income data release at 22:30
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Pay attention to comments from U.S. officials • Pay attention to Trump administration developments
● Pay attention to headlines related to additional BOJ rate hikes
Tonight’s 1-minute scalp, in addition to market-open movements, may present opportunities after the 22:30 U.S. Personal Income release. For users of the “1-minute scalp Club,” if you handle it according to the theory, there should be no problem.
Also, the 15-minute scalp focusing on shorts may have fewer opportunities since month-end forces tend to bring back USD/JPY, so it might be wise to refrain a bit today. It’s month-end, so don’t push it.
Well then, overseas session is about to start!
