Good job everyone! Let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, from today's Tokyo time overview.
Currently USD/JPY is around 151.85. This morning USD/JPY started around 151.95, but during Tokyo time, with Takada Bank of Japan Policy Board member’s speech adding caution on additional rate hikes, there were moments when the yen weakened to around 152.30.
However, since the content did not suggest further rate hikes by the Bank of Japan, the upside did not extend, and in the end it seems to transition to overseas time at roughly the morning level.
Today at 28:00 is the release of the “U.S. FOMC Minutes.” I wonder if I can stay awake…
Now, the points for tonight's USD/JPY scalping.
● Movement near the London market open around 17:00
● Movement after the release of “U.S. housing starts/building permits” at 22:30
● Movement near the New York market open around 23:00 (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Be mindful of developments in the Trump administration
● Be mindful of headlines related to BoJ rate hikes
Tonight's 1-minute scalp will likely find opportunities around market opens and after the 22:30 housing starts/building permits release. For users of the “1-minute Scalping Club,” handling as per theory should be fine. Also, the 28:00 release of the U.S. FOMC minutes is scheduled, but only if you can stay awake…
Additionally, the 15-minute scalp for shorts remains heavy on the upside as markets still anticipate BoJ rate hikes, so there may be opportunities there as well. Takada Bank of Japan Policy Board member’s speech had little impact. If you can sell near around 152 yen, that’s the setup.
