Good job everyone! Let’s go for some USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, here is today’s Tokyo session overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 151.75. This morning it started around 152.20, but during the Tokyo session, the better-than-expected Q4 GDP data for Japan revived expectations of further BOJ rate hikes, pushing the yen higher across the board.
Before 15:00 it fell to around 151.45, then recovered a bit, and from the morning level it dropped about 45 pips as we transition to the overseas session.
Today's Asia high is around 152.40, Asia low around 151.45.
Now, the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements near the London market open around 17:00
● Be mindful of the Trump administration's actions in the U.S.
● Watch headlines related to additional BOJ rate hikes
Tonight’s 1-minute chart scalping will largely depend on U.S. markets being closed for Presidents' Day, so we’ll aim to capture profits around the London open. For users of the “1-minute Scalping Club,” handling according to theory should be fine.
Also, the 15-minute scalping focused on shorts could become a good setup as yen tends to strengthen on the back of expectations for additional BOJ rate hikes after the GDP release. If the price can reach around 152, we may start to enter.
