[2/6 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points]
Good work everyone! Let’s do dollar-yen scalping again tonight!
First, here is today’s Tokyo session overview.
Currently, the USD/JPY is around 152.50. This morning the pair started around 152.50, but during the Tokyo session it moved to a yen-buying trend following Bank of Japan Governor Kamiyama’s comment that “by the latter half of fiscal year 2025, at least about 1% rate hike will be necessary.” It dropped to around 151.80 after 9:30 AM.
As the afternoon progressed, the declines eased, it recovered to the mid-152s, and it seems likely to hand off to overseas trading at roughly the same level as in the morning.
The BOJ is fully in add-on rate-hike mode. They are keen to act.
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movement around the London market open near 17:00
● Movement after the US initial jobless claims release at 22:30
● Movement around the New York market open near 23:00 (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Pay attention to remarks from US officials
● Pay attention to developments in the Trump administration
● Pay attention to headlines related to additional BOJ rate hikes
Tonight’s 1-minute scalping opportunities arise not only around each market open but also after the 22:30 US jobless claims release. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” following the standard approach should pose no problem.
Also, the 15-minute short-term scalping, which focuses on the late 152s due to expectations of early BoJ rate hikes, seems to offer chances as well. If we can sell around the mid-152 level, that would be a setup.
With that, thank you for your continued support!
