Good work everyone! Alright, let's do some USDJPY scalping again tonight!
First, the overview of Tokyo time for today.
Currently, the USDJPY is around 154.70. This morning it started around 154.20, but in the early hours of Tokyo time it moved with no clear direction.
However, President Trump’s comment that “if BRICS tries to substitute the U.S. dollar, a 100% tariff will be imposed,” and Bank of Japan Governor Ueda’s dovish remark that “we should gradually raise toward the 2% inflation target while maintaining an accommodative environment” pushed the yen weaker, and after 3:00 PM it hit today’s Asia high around 154.95.
From there it pulled back a bit, rising about 50 pips from the morning level, and is likely to hand over to overseas time.
Now, the key points for tonight’s USDJPY scalping.
● Movement near the 17:00 London market open
● Movement after the 22:30 U.S. personal income release
● Movement near the 23:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Watch out for remarks from U.S. officials
● Watch out for developments in the Trump administration
Tonight’s 1-minute chart scalping will likely offer opportunities not only around the market opens but also after the 22:30 U.S. personal income release. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” following the theory should be fine.
Also, the 15-minute scalping strategy, which only shorts, could present opportunities if a pullback selling pattern forms near the near-term resistance around 155 yen. However, it tends to hover firmly around the 153 yen level, so expect to execute in small increments.
