What prompted you to become interested in investing for the first time?

Over thirty years ago, when I started my business, the economy was thriving and there was a “financial tech” investment boom as NTT stock went public.
That was around when I began to take an interest in investments.
Back then there were no online brokers yet, and I remember investing being a very high hurdle for a young me.
A decade or so later, online brokers began to spread, and opening an account marked the start of my investing. |

Did you consider other financial instruments or methods before starting FX? |

It's not a financial instrument, but I used Excel to create analysis software for my hobby of horse racing.
That experience has been helpful for MQL programming. |

What has been a happy moment in your investment life? |
|

The most rewarding moment was when I translated my own method into an indicator and trading became more stable. |

What do you focus on and what strategies do you use to succeed in investing? |

I stopped getting elated or depressed about each individual trade, and started focusing on total profits by accepting losses. |

What has been your biggest mistake in your investment life so far? |
|

There weren't big losses or big failures, but I couldn't consistently secure overall profits, and there were many days when I stuck to the charts for more than 10 hours, which caused various worries and struggles. |

I couldn't tolerate a single loss, and when I did lose, I tended to overtrade trying to immediately make back the loss. |

What lessons did you learn from the failure? |

First and foremost, strengthen your mental fortitude.
Also, practice waiting for a market environment with an edge. |

What concrete actions or measures did you take? |

I revised my method.
I shifted from focusing only on entry points to a method that emphasizes currency-pair selection. |

Has your investment style or risk management changed? |
|
|

The change in my investment style is that I focus more on which currency pair to trade rather than where to enter, and my trading results have improved.
Just as stock picking matters, in FX the choice of currency pair can significantly affect profits and win rate.
For example, in a yen-selling market, GBPJPY can earn more pips in a shorter time than USDJPY. |
