Good work everyone! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, today's Tokyo session overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 156.50. The pair started this morning around 156.40, but during the Tokyo session it has been moving with little volatility.
We’re awaiting the outcome of tomorrow’s Bank of Japan monetary policy meeting. It seems likely to hand over to overseas hours with almost the same levels as in the morning.
I think BOJ rate hike expectations are somewhat priced in, but today is likely to be a range-trading day focused on position adjustments.
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements around the London market open near 17:00
● Movements after the release of the US initial jobless claims at 22:30
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Be cautious of statements from US President Trump
● Be mindful of headlines related to the BOJ’s additional rate hikes
Tonight’s 1-minute scalp will likely find opportunities around market opens and after the 22:30 US initial jobless claims release. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” handling according to the theory should be fine.
Also, for the short-only 15-minute scalp, if position-adjusting selling appears, there may be opportunities as well. If price can move to the 156 yen area, that’s when I’d consider entering.
