Thank you for your hard work! Now, let's do dollar-yen scalping again tonight!
First, the overview of Tokyo time today.
Currently, the dollar-yen is around 155.60. The dollar-yen started today at around 155.60 in the morning, but in the early Tokyo session, it began with a selling trend as a continuation of the flow after President Trump’s inaugural address last night.
After 8 o'clock, it fell below 155 to around 154.90. This was due to the fact that tariffs were not enacted at the inauguration ceremony.
However, with the sudden report that the Trump administration would implement 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada from February 1, the trend shifted to dollar strength, surging to around 156.20.
Subsequently, there was no talk of tariffs against China, and after 11 o'clock, it again dropped below 155 to around 154.80.
After hitting a low, it rebounded, and it seems it will hand over to the overseas session at roughly the same level as in the morning.
Oh dear... as soon as the Trump administration began, it moves... the scalper's blood is stirring!
Now, here are tonight’s dollar-yen scalping points.
● Movements around the London market open around 17:00
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Be cautious of Trump administration developments
● Be cautious of headlines related to Bank of Japan rate hikes
For tonight’s 1-minute scale trades, since there is no particular market catalyst, the plan is to accumulate profits around market open times. For users of the “1-minute Scalping Club,” if you handle the trades in accordance with the theory, there should be no problem. However, even with no material factors, when the Trump administration mentions tariffs on China in the future, there will likely be big moves, so caution is required.
Also, for the short-only 15-minute scalping, while vigilantly watching Trump administration developments, if a setup appears to sell, we will enter in small increments. Since a BOJ rate hike is almost certain this weekend, yen buying is likely to occur.
With that, overseas time is about to begin!
