Good work everyone! Alright, let's go with USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, from today’s Tokyo time overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 155.65. This morning it started around 155.10, and during the Tokyo session there were moments in the early hours when it dipped into the 154 handle, but afterward it recovered to the mid-155s.
With the inauguration of the next U.S. president Trump approaching, there seems to have been position-adjustment buying.
From the morning levels, about 55 pips higher, it is likely to hand off to the overseas session.
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalp points.
● Movements near the 17:00 London market open
● Movements after the 22:30 release of U.S. housing starts/building permits
● Movements near the 23:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Be mindful of headlines related to BOJ rate hikes
● Be mindful of headlines related to U.S. rate cuts
Tonight’s 1-minute scalp will likely find opportunities around market opens and after the 22:30 housing starts/building permits release. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” if you follow the theory, there shouldn’t be any issues.
Also, the 15-minute scalp focused on shorts is favored as overseas participants are forecasting a 98% chance of an additional BOJ rate hike in January, making the market lean toward yen buying, so there should be opportunities here as well. If you can sell above the mid-155s, I plan to enter.
With that, overseas time is about to begin!
