【1/16 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points】
Good job everyone! Now let's do another Dollar/Yen scalping session tonight!
First, the summary for Tokyo time today.
Currently, the USD/JPY is around 156.05. This morning it started around 156.35, but during Tokyo time, following reports from US Bloomberg, expectations rose that the Bank of Japan may raise rates again next week, leading to a yen-buying flow. It fell to around 155.20 in the 11 o'clock vicinity.
However, in the afternoon it steadied the decline and recovered to the 156 level. From the morning level, about 30 pips lower, it appears to be handing over to overseas time.
The market is pricing in additional BOJ rate hikes. At least until US indicators, the upside seems quite heavy.
Now, here are the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements around the London market open around 17:00
● Movements after the release of US Initial Jobless Claims, US Retail Sales, US Philadelphia Fed Index at 22:30
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Be cautious of US officials' remarks
● Be cautious of headlines related to BOJ rate hikes
● Be cautious of headlines related to US rate cuts
For tonight’s 1-minute chart scalping, in addition to movements near market opens, opportunities seem to arise after the 22:30 data releases of US Initial Jobless Claims, US Retail Sales, and US Philadelphia Fed Index. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” please handle as per theory and there should be no problem.
Also, for the short-only 15-minute scalping, due to Bloomberg reports about possible additional BOJ rate hikes, upside is heavy; there may be opportunities here as well. If it forms a sell around the 156 yen level, I would like to enter.
