【1/15 USD/JPY Scalping Points】

Good job everyone! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!

First, from today’s Tokyo session overview.

Currently USD/JPY is around 157.40. This morning the pair started around 157.95, and although there wasn’t much movement in the early Tokyo session, after 1 PM the Bank of Japan Governor Ueda said, “We will decide next week at the policy meeting whether to raise rates,” which briefly pushed it down to around 157.20.

From there, it retraced a bit, and about 55 pips lower than the morning level, it looks like it will hand over to the overseas session.

Asia's high is around 158.10; the low is around 157.20. The focus today is 22:30 “US CPI.”

Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.

● Around 17:00 London market open movements

● Movements after the release of “US CPI” and “US NY Fed Manufacturing Index” at 22:30

● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)

● Pay attention to speeches by US officials

● Be wary of headlines related to US rate cuts

● Be wary of headlines related to BOJ rate hikes

Tonight’s 1-minute scalping opportunities will arise around market opens and after the 22:30 release of the “US CPI” and “US NY Fed Manufacturing Index.” For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” handling according to the theory should be fine. After the 28:00 Beige Book release, there may still be opportunities, but I’ll try to enter if I can stay awake.

Also, the short-specialized 15-minute chart scalping, after Ueda’s remarks, is turning higher at least until the US indicators, so there should be chances. If price can move to the 157 mid-range and you can sell, I’d like to enter. The pattern is a fade-to-reverse move.
