[Techniques Free to Public] Tonight's USD/JPY Scalp Points 2025/1/8
This is Tomizaki from the Trading Office.
[1/8 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points]
Thank you for your hard work! So, let's dive into USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, from today’s Tokyo session overview.
Currently USD/JPY is around 158.10. This morning the pair started around 158.00, and during the Tokyo session there has been a slight trend of dollar buying and yen selling, but traders are cautious about chasing higher prices.
It looks like we will hand over to the overseas session at around the morning levels.
Tomorrow is National Memorial Day in the United States, so the U.S. markets are closed, and there are U.S. indicators moved up today as well, making late London hours and New York hours packed with events. Let’s stay on top of the event schedule and trade accordingly.
Also, we remain in a watchful zone for BOJ currency intervention.
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
• Movements near the 17:00 London market open
• Movements after 22:15 “U.S. ADP Employment Report” and 22:30 “U.S. Initial Jobless Claims”
• Movements near the 23:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
• Movements after 28:00 “U.S. FOMC Minutes release”
• Be mindful of headlines related to BOJ intervention
For this evening’s 1-minute chart scalps, chances will arise not only from market opens but also after 22:15 “U.S. ADP Employment Report” and 22:30 “U.S. Initial Jobless Claims.” It’s safest to wait for the 15 minutes after the ADP release until the claim release to enter. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” following the theory should pose no problems. Also, I will target moves after the 28:00 “FOMC Minutes” if I can stay up….
Additionally, for the short-only 15-minute scalper, given the ongoing dollar strength and yen weakness trend yesterday, there may not be many opportunities, but if the trend changes after the U.S. indicators, I plan to test entries cautiously. This is not a market where you should force positions.
With that, the overseas session is about to start!
