[Free Method Released] Tonight's USD/JPY Scalping Points 2025/1/7
This is Tomizaki from Trading Office.
[1/7 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points]
Hope you’re well! Let’s do dollar-yen scalping again tonight!
First, the Tokyo session overview for today.
Currently, the dollar-yen is around 157.85. This morning it started around 157.60, but in the early Tokyo session the trend of buying dollars and selling yen strengthened, and after 10:30 a high of around 158.40 was reached.
However, after Finance Minister Kato stated that there is a “one-sided and rapid movement in the FX market at the moment,” the market shifted to a corrective selling flow, and the rise in Tokyo seems to be a “headfake.”
From the morning level, it’s about 25 pips higher, and we are likely to hand off to the overseas session. The market is in a nervous state, watching the Bank of Japan’s movements in response to a dollar-buying, yen-selling trend…
Now, here are tonight’s dollar-yen scalping points.
● Movements near the London market Open around 17:00
● Movements after the U.S. trade balance release at 22:30
● Movements near the New York market Open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Movements after the U.S. ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI and JOLTS Job Openings at 24:00
● Be attentive to headlines related to BoJ FX intervention
Tonight’s 1-minute scalping will present opportunities around market opens, plus after the 22:30 U.S. trade balance and after the 24:00 U.S. ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI and JOLTS releases. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” I believe you can handle it using the standard approach.
Also, the 15-minute scalp, which is a short-only strategy, is unlikely to offer many chances as the dollar is strong and yen weak, continuing from yesterday. It’s not a market to force positions in.
Now, the overseas session is about to start!
