EA developers are, of course, those who develop EAs.

So they should have more knowledge than users, naturally, but

even EA developers were initially just a single EA trader.

And I started as a discretionary trader.

My main development method is to convert discretionary trading methods into EAs,

and among them, there is the “knowledge first gained when becoming an EA developer,”

so I’d like to share such stories.

【A Method of Discretionary Trading That Is Entirely Different】

The development of EA logic is entirely different from

which is the first thing I felt.

In discretionary trading, a common method is

“environment recognition,” i.e., chart pattern mastery,

where humans judge “roughly like this the chart pattern would be~”

and heavily influenced by a person’s intuition.

In EA logic development,

you must clearly define things like “what is the MA period, how many candles back and what is the state,”

otherwise programming cannot be done,

which is a major difference.

【★ Side Note ★】

By the way, among turning discretionary trading methods into EAs,

do you know what is the most difficult method?

One of them is the “Point & Figure method.”

This method has a long history but has no concept of time,

and removing noise makes it difficult.

Also using trend lines is challenging.
