2024 12/25 USD/JPY Swing Trade Example No. 2
As with last time, we verify a trade example by changing the main trend-following parameter settings from the 15-minute chart to the 1-hour chart.

15-minute chart
The top image is the daily chart.
We have drawn a channel line, but it has not broken out while in an overall uptrend.
The sub-chart also shows an uptrend.
The 4-hour chart is similar.

〇 The chart screen to enter (15-minute chart)
③ The 15-minute chart, which is the third one, changes the trend-following setting that generates the main signal from the parameters to the 1-hour chart.
A buy blue signal appears at the far left, and thereafter the line (and the band) remains blue without interruption.
If you hold a position for a longer swing, I think it is okay to keep the position until the color of this line changes to red and a red sell signal appears.
〇 Stop loss
Just before the blue buy signal occurs, you might take a slightly lower low of the candle, or go a bit deeper.
〇 How long to hold the position?
This chart is 6 PM; it is Wednesday.
In general, from experience, unless there are major economic indicator surprises, it is unlikely to see a large deviation on the 15-minute chart that breaks the stop-loss line.
〇 Swinging is mentally easier.
Some people like scalping, while others prefer swing trading.
If you want steady wins, I recommend swing or day trading.
Compared to frequently moving 1-minute charts, I think it is better for mental health.
In actual trading, as shown in the image above, it is best to check daily, 4-hour, and 1-hour charts, and then enter on the trigger timeframe (in this case, the 15-minute chart) when all conditions are met.
The week starts on Monday, but from the afternoon onward it tends to stabilize, and until Thursday it should proceed as expected; unless there are any major statements by important figures or market-moving events like war, I think it will proceed as forecast, though the market is driven by many people, so nothing is guaranteed.
If unexpected events occur, even a scenario that seemed solid can crumble.
