【12/9 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points】
Thanks for your hard work! Alright, let's do Dollar/Yen scalping again tonight!
First, overview of Tokyo time today.
Currently, USD/JPY is at the 149.85 level. This morning it started around 150.05, but during Tokyo time it moved in a narrow range around 150.
From the morning level, about 20 pips lower, it looks like it will hand over to the overseas session.
Last weekend, a highly anticipated US employment report was released, and although the numbers themselves were good, the initial reaction was a dollar sell-off.
At least the initial reaction could have been dollar buying, but… it’s a bit puzzling.
Perhaps the market judged that the data wasn’t strong enough to justify a rate cut.
According to Fed Watch, the probability of a December rate cut has risen to 91%, and this is becoming the standard line.
Now, here are tonight's USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements near the 17:00 London market open
● Movements near the 23:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Be cautious of headlines related to US rate cuts
● Be cautious of headlines related to BOJ rate hikes
● Be cautious of headlines related to Trump’s administration
Tonight’s 1-minute chart scalping will not have major market catalysts; the idea is to accumulate profits from the movements around each market open. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” it should be fine to handle according to the theory.
Also, the 15-minute scalping focusing on short positions, which has been heavy around the 150 yen level since last weekend’s US employment data release, seems to have a chance as well. If a setup around 150 is present, I will target it.
