Good work everyone! Let’s do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, a summary of today’s Tokyo session.
USD/JPY is at around 149.90. This morning it started near 150.00, but during Tokyo time it moved with no clear direction ahead of the U.S. employment data.
Asia’s high is around 150.25, Asia’s low around 149.75.
It seems we’ll hand over to overseas time at roughly the same level as in the morning.
With Korea’s martial law potentially being re-imposed, the upside may be capped until U.S. statistics release.
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements around the London market open near 17:00
● Movements after the U.S. unemployment data at 22:30
● Movements around the New York market open near 23:00 (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Movements after the U.S. University of Michigan Consumer Confidence Index at 24:00
● Pay attention to remarks by U.S. officials
● Pay attention to headlines related to Bank of Japan rate hikes
● Pay attention to headlines related to the Trump administration
Tonight’s 1-minute scalp opportunities may arise not only near market opens but also after 22:30 (U.S. jobs data) and 24:00 (U.S. University of Michigan confidence index). For users of the "1-Minute Scalping Club," handling according to the theory should pose no problems.
Also, for short-only 15-minute scalps, with U.S. employment data due, a pullback selling could present opportunities. If a setup to sell around 150 is formed, we’ll target it.
