12/13★ The importance of changing yourself

“It is faster to change yourself than to try to change others.”
You may have heard words like a proverb.
In simple terms,
since others are not you, it’s hard to control them,
and since you should know yourself best,
it’s quicker to change yourself.
To do that, first knowing yourself is important, but
subconscious or surprisingly unacknowledged parts of yourself
might be more present than you think.
If you clear up those parts and know yourself
you can discover and possess a personal axis (your core).
If your personal axis is solid, things become easier to understand,
and your life can change just from that.
It’s not that I’m the sun, but
everyone has a subjective point of view,
and if you center around that,
you’ll see the surroundings as moving.
If your core isn’t strong,
and your axis wobbles, when you try to perceive things
you may end up not knowing what’s what.
Well, what often happens in that situation
is that you expect others to resolve things for you
or rely on others too much,
and that state is
when the person themselves doesn’t realize it.
So, although I’ve said quite philosophical difficult things,
even if the words you use or the order you think are different,
roughly speaking, considering those things,
a person who can change themselves is someone who achieves great success in life.
One point to note is
“I’m not doing anything, I’m not acting,”
“The bad result isn’t my fault.”
That kind of thinking, I think,.
In such cases, it’s not about having a stable core or axis, but
you’re not doing anything, you’re not moving,
you see others moving around you, so
you notice bad things about others,
and by criticizing them
you feel your own value rises relatively,
but you’re just deluding yourself, so there’s no real growth and you’ll gradually fall behind.
Rather than that,
if you have a solid personal axis and can objectively see your surroundings,
and you can change what you should change,
personally, that alone can sometimes improve the situation for the better,
and I believe there’s no reason not to change.
