【11/5 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points】
Good work everyone! Now, let's do some USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, the overview of the Tokyo session today.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 152.30. This morning it started around 152.10, but during the Tokyo session there has been a slight tendency to buy dollars. Ahead of the presidential election counting starting tomorrow, markets have been moving quietly.
Polling shows Harris and Trump are in a close race, so if the result drags on, the market could swing wildly on headlines for several days.
A Trump lead means dollar buying; a Trump lag means dollar selling.
From the morning levels, we may see about 20 pips of upside as we transition to overseas trading hours.
Now, the points for tonight's USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements near the London market open around 17:00
● Movements after the US trade balance release at 22:30
● Movements near the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Movements after the US ISM Non-Manufacturing Services Index release at 24:00
● Be mindful of headlines related to the US presidential election
Tonight's one-minute scalping will likely find opportunities around market open, plus after 22:30 US trade balance and after 24:00 US ISM Non-Manufacturing Index releases.
If you manage positions according to theory, there should be no problem, but if you get caught in headlines about the presidential election within just a few minutes of holding a position, there’s nothing you can do but call it a disruption... automatic stopouts are essential.
Also, for the 15-minute scalps that focus on selling, dollar-yen moves are quite solid, so there may not be many opportunities. If headlines trigger a dollar-selling flow, it might be worth taking a small ride.
