【10/31 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points】
Good work today! Now let's go for a Dollar/Yen scalping session again tonight!
First, let's start with today’s Tokyo session overview.
Currently, the Dollar/Yen is around 152.30. This morning the pair started near 153.35, and in the Tokyo session it briefly strengthened toward 153.60 near the midpoint, but afterwards it moved sharply toward the yen.
Although the Bank of Japan policy meeting held today left rates unchanged as market expectations predicted, the Outlook Report’s note that the inflation outlook for FY2025 carries “greater upside risk” seemed to hint at additional rate hikes by overseas participants.
The July meeting, when the BOJ did proceed with a rate hike, also pointed out “upside inflation risks.”
Anyway, the Bank of Japan and Mr. Ueda’s press conference led to a significant yen strength in the aftermath.
From the morning level, about 1 yen and 5 sen lower, we will transition to the overseas session.
Now, here are tonight’s Dollar/Yen scalping points.
● Movement near the London open around 16:00
● Movement after the U.S. jobless claims and personal income data at 21:30
● Movement near the New York open around 22:00 (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Be cautious of headlines related to the U.S. presidential election
Tonight’s 1-minute scalping will likely present opportunities from moves around market opens plus moves after the 21:30 data release (U.S. jobless claims and personal income).
If you handle post-release moves with the usual analysis, there should be no problem.
Also, for the short-only 15-minute scalping, since the BOJ and Mr. Ueda’s press conference already pushed prices down significantly, the idea is to sell on a rebound around 153.00. Whether it returns will depend on overseas players!
