[10/17 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points]

Good work today! Let's go with dollar-yen scalping again tonight!

First, the overview of Tokyo time today.

Currently, the dollar-yen is around 149.45. This morning it started around 149.55, but after last night’s failed attempt to reach 150 in New York time, the upside seems to have become heavier again.

Carrying that trend, in the Tokyo morning there were moments when it softened to around 149.30.

However, buying also appears solid, and there may be a move to again focus on 150 during the overseas session.

Also tonight at 21:30 there are a lot of US indicators, and depending on the results, there could be a big shift in movement.

Now, here are tonight’s dollar-yen scalping points.

● Movement around 16:00 near the London market open

● Movements after the 21:30 release of “US Initial Jobless Claims,” “US Retail Sales,” and “US Philadelphia Fed Business Outlook Survey”

● Movement around 22:00 near the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)

For the 1-minute chart scalping tonight, opportunities are likely to arise from movements near marketOpen as well as after the 21:30 US indicators release.

However, ECB policy rate will be announced at 21:15 just before that, so please hope for a simple move and not a complex one. A clear movement would be appreciated!

Also for 15-minute scalping, at present buying seems solid, so if there is a chance, it would be after the US indicators release at 21:30 when the market may turn to dollar selling.

Outside the US, at 21:15 there is “EU: ECB policy rate & statement,” and at 21:45 “EU: Lagarde’s ECB press conference.”

For dollar-yen scalpers, avoid entering right before indicators/events; time should be checked carefully.
