This time I will talk about “Why I use tick charts.”
First, I would like to discuss the most important concept for making profits in scalping, but please read as my personal opinion.
The most important concept for making profits in scalping is to grasp the “price action patterns.”
“Price action patterns” are a kind of rule that says, “If the price moves like this, it will inevitably move like that next.”
Short-term scalping that aims to settle quickly is, unlike other day trading and swing trading, a very specialized trading method.
You can disregard the commonly cited technical analysis knowledge such as “how the trendline looks,” “how technical indicators look,” or “how higher timeframes look,” for now.
● Search for the price action patterns
● Look for a shortcut rather than the mainstream (general technical analysis)
I believe these ways of thinking become important in scalping.
Then, why do I use tick charts?
Because, compared to regular charts, the “price action patterns” appear much more distinctly on the chart.
It’s a very simple reason.
I think you will understand once you use tick charts as well.
You will be able to see special waveforms that you cannot see on the normal 1-minute chart.
Also… this may digress a little, but have you ever watched some scalping traders’ YouTube streams?
I don’t know if they are still streaming, but in the past I watched a few live streams of people who seemed to be really profitable.
All of them showed the standard 1-minute chart on their stream screens.
It seemed that the actual brokerage’s 1-minute chart was being used for entries, but several people appeared to be using a tick chart on another monitor to time entries.
They probably wanted to hide that they were using tick charts.
Of course not everyone does this, but the benefits of using tick charts are so great that they would want to hide it. I understand that feeling!
I digressed, but for those interested in “Ultra-Short-Term Trading Skills” using tick charts, please view the product overview page from the URL below.
