【10/8 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points】

Good work today! Alright, let’s do the dollar-yen scalping again tonight!

First, the Tokyo time overview for today.

Currently, the dollar-yen is around 147.80. This morning it started around 148.15, but during the Tokyo session it moved in a somewhat wide range of upper 148.15 to lower 147.50.

After a pause from the solid U.S. indicators last week, it is possible that it may test the 150 level again, but at the moment the upside looks heavy.

We seem to be handing off to the overseas session about 35 pips below the morning level.

Now, here are tonight’s dollar-yen scalping points.

● Movements around 16:00 London market open

● Movements after the 21:30 release of the “U.S. Trade Balance”

● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)

● Be mindful of statements from U.S. officials

There aren’t any particular catalysts in tonight’s overseas session, so like yesterday, the 1-minute chart scalping will likely hinge on market moves near the market open.

Also, although upside remains heavy, the 147 yen mid-range seems rather solid, so for 15-minute scalping, I’d aim to short only in small increments and rotate carefully.
