Multicurrency correlation analysis and multi-timeframe analysis in trading |
Hayakawa |
First, please tell us about the strategies you have been focusing on recently in your trading. |
In recent trading, I have been emphasizing multicurrency correlation analysis and multi-timeframe analysis. In multicurrency correlation analysis, the goal is to analyze movements of multiple currency pairs against one another to understand the overall market flow. For example, I look at how a particular currency pair moves in relation to other pairs to grasp the overall trend. On the other hand, in multi-timeframe analysis, I check different timeframes (for example, 5-minute, 15-minute, 1-hour, 4-hour, etc.) simultaneously to confirm the trends and reversal points in each timeframe. This allows me to grasp both short-term movements and long-term trends, enabling more accurate trading. |

I see. How does combining multicurrency correlation analysis with multi-timeframe analysis concretely help your trades? |
For example, using multicurrency correlation analysis helps you understand how the movement of one currency pair affects others. This enables trading with risk diversification. Also, with multi-timeframe analysis you can trade considering both short-term entry points and long-term trends. This makes it easier to identify more favorable entry and exit points. |

■Automated trading and indicator usage■ |
Hayakawa |
I’d also like to ask about automated trading tools and indicators; specifically, what tools and indicators do you use? |
Regarding automated trading tools, I mainly use ones I developed myself. This includes features such as averaging down functionality and automatically setting stop-loss points. Additionally, for indicators I use things like “Correlation Strength” and “Arrow Extremes.” These indicators help visually capture market strength/weakness and trend changes. |

What points do you pay special attention to when using indicators? |
When using indicators, their accuracy and reliability are extremely important. The indicators I use are tuned based on historical data and market conditions. For example, “Correlation Strength” visually shows the strength/weakness between currency pairs, and “Arrow Extremes” indicates entry points and reversal points, so using these increases trading accuracy. |

■Discretionary trading and automated trading usage■ |
Hayakawa |
Specifically, what criteria do you use to decide between discretionary trading and automated trading? |
Discretionary trading is mainly performed during active market hours. In particular, I trade discretionarily around the opening and closing times of the New York market, when liquidity is high and volatility is large, and I make quick judgments based on market moves and news at that time. Automated trading is used during daytime hours or relatively quiet market periods to handle more trades efficiently. |

■Trading Hours and Strategies■ |
Hayakawa |
Are there any particular points you pay attention to regarding the times you trade? |
Yes, what I pay attention to most is market opening and closing times. For example, around the opening/close of the New York market or the London market opening, I tend to trade when volatility is high. This makes price movements more volatile and easier to profit from. |

What are the benefits of trading in sync with market open/close times? |
The market open hours have high liquidity, and price movements become more active. Trading during these times makes entry and exit points clearer and allows you to aim for larger profits. Additionally, during volatile times there are more short-term trading opportunities, giving you more trading opportunities. |
