Win with RSI! Episode 07
[ATS-Base] RSI Training Room
The 7th session covers “TakeProfit” and “StopLoss.”
These two are the settlement criteria specified by the width from the entry position.
First, decide whether to set the two: “TakeProfit” and “StopLoss.”
Next, if you set them, what value should you set?
First, let’s start with “StopLoss”!
Now, please look at this chart.
We entered at “¥171,178,” then the price dropped significantly and finally settled at “¥167,797.”
“-3390 pips (3.39 yen)”loss.
Incidents like this don’t happen often, but if it does even once, it can be devastating.
I tried setting “StopLoss” at 1.50 yen.
The stop loss was hit, and the substantial damage was prevented.
Also, the large unrealized losses that occurred afterward were avoided.
Furthermore, in subsequent trades, a +1500 pips (1.50 yen) profit was secured.
As a result, the previous “-3.39 yen” turned into a neutral outcome of zero by using both “TakeProfit” and “StopLoss.”zero net gain or loss.
Of course, it isn’t all good; we must also consider the opposite cases.
There could be cases like “If I hadn’t cut losses, it would have returned to profits.”
The same can be said for “TakeProfit” as well.
There are scenarios like “thanks to profit-taking settings, you got large profits before price retraced,” or conversely “if you hadn’t set it, you would have earned even more.”
Is it better to set or not set TakeProfit and StopLoss...
ATS has hints for this.
First, you must avoid losing a large portion of your margin from a single large loss.
To avoid the worst-case scenario, you should set the values carefully, and it seems better to set StopLoss.
Still, pursuing large profits is also natural.
The market is always changing.
The optimal values for “TakeProfit” and “StopLoss” are not fixed. Find settings that match the current situation with ATS.
You cannot maintain a 100% win rate forever, and it’s not guaranteed that the current TakeProfit and StopLoss will end up at the exact optimum, but the reality is that repeated trading with an overall large result is a valid way of thinking and method.
Therefore, you need to read the current market, use a method suitable for the present, and trade with optimal settings.
Please use “ATS”!
