■Academic Investor's Path■ |
| Hayakawa |
Hello, this is Hayakawa from GogoJungle. Today in the studio is Mr. matti, also known as a researcher-investorMr. matti. Mr. matti, thank you for joining us again!
 | | Hayakawa |
| We asked about your journey in developing FX automated trading tools and indicators while continuing to trade, but today we'd like to hear in detail about your failures and how you improved your trading results!
First, I'd like to hear about the initial failures when you started FX.
I started FX around 2016, initially aiming to earn a little extra pocket money, but since I did it in between work, I couldn't devote enough time to trading.
So I became interested in automated trading tools and indicators and started creating them myself. However, in the early days I focused mainly on entries and did not consider exit timing, take-profit, or stop-loss, which was one of the causes of my early failures.
| |
| Hayakawa |
That might be a typical beginner's mistake. Many traders tend to focus on entries at first and forget how to exit trades, but for Mr. matti, what specific problems did you encounter?
The first indicator I created was the "Arrow Indicator," which signals entry timing. The entry points are shown as arrows, so you take a position accordingly.
However, after entering, I didn't think about where to exit, that is, the exit strategy. As a result, even when profits were there, I wouldn't close the position and profits would eventually turn into losses.
Also, since I hadn't set a stop-loss timing,.
| Hayakawa |
I see. Indeed, if you don't consider exit timing, even a good entry can miss profits, right? So how did you improve after that?
■Realizing the importance of exit and stop-loss■ |
Through those failures, I finallyrealized the importance of exit and stop-loss.
No matter how good the entry, if the exit isn't solid, it's hard to make a profit in the end.
So I began to embed exit and stop-loss logics into my automated trading tools and indicators.
For example, rules that automatically close a position when a certain profit is reached, and rules that automatically execute a stop-loss when losses exceed a certain threshold. |

| Hayakawa |
Excellent. By properly implementing exit and stop-loss logic, did your trading performance change dramatically?
In particular, the automated trading tool "Bertex" thoroughly implements these logics. Of course, it's available on GogoJungle.
This tool is designed with a strong emphasis on not only entry points but also exit and stop-loss timing. As a result, its performance is very stable and maintains a rightward upward trajectory.

■Fusion of automated trading and discretionary trading■ |
| Hayakawa |
“Bertex” is an automated trading tool, but you mentioned it can also be helpful for discretionary traders. In what ways can it be applied to discretionary traders?
Even with automated trading tools, there are moments where the trader's judgment and discretion are required.
In particular, stop-loss and position adjustments involve a strong discretionary element.
Bertex provides not only automated trading but also data and logic that are useful for discretionary traders. For example, indicators that help determine when a trend is turning and whether you should continue holding a position are included. This allows discretionary traders to use the tool as a reference while making their own decisions. |

| Hayakawa |
“Bertex” isn’t solely focused on automatic trading; it also supports discretionary trading. This is very interesting.
I believe it’s important not to favor one side, but to balance the overall trading approach. Automated trading helps you trade efficiently, but managing trades with discretion is also important. Leveraging both leads to better results.

■ Research-driven Stable Trading■ |
| Hayakawa |
I see, balancing discretion and automated trading is a crucial point. Then, specifically, what research and efforts contribute to the stable results you are achieving with Bertex?
When developing Bertex, I analyzed historical data in detail and built algorithms to predict trend patterns and market movements. This is where my years of experience as a researcher come into play.
For example, by expressing market movements with mathematical models and incorporating them into the program, I was able to predict trend reversal points with high accuracy. Also, by studying exit timing and stop-loss timing, I established strategies to maximize profits and minimize losses. |
 | | Hayakawa |
| Very theoretical yet practical, indeed. This is exactly the kind of method that someone with an academic background like you would use. Such theoretical approaches are very effective in the investment world, aren’t they?
Yes, it’s important to balance theory and practice. Applying knowledge gained from research to tradinghas helped me achieve more stable results.

 | | Hayakawa |
| Earlier you mentioned the difficulty of stop-loss; I think many traders can relate. How did you work to improve stop-loss execution?
Stop-loss is truly a mental challenge, isn’t it? To overcome it, it’s important to establish your trading rules clearly.
In my case, using an EA helped me execute stop-loss without being swayed by emotions. I’ve set it so that losses exceed a certain threshold and stop-loss is automatically performed. |

■Future Outlook and Trading Philosophy■ Future Outlook and Trading Philosophy■ |
 | | Hayakawa |
| Could you share your future outlook and your trading philosophy?
I plan to continue developing automated trading tools, but at the same time, I want to strengthen support for discretionary traders. I want to offer support that helps traders grow and make better trading decisions, not just rely on tools. Also, my trading philosophy is to minimize risk while maximizing profits. This aligns with my researcher’s mindset, always aiming for data-driven, calm decisions.
