It wasn’t a big uproar, but a while ago there was

“EA developers publish their performance”

“Discretionary traders don’t publish”

such a debate, if I recall correctly.

Well, there are differences in characteristics between EA operation and discretionary trading,

but I do wonder about not publishing results.

If you don’t publish results and

you attract customers with poems or hindsight or

such things and take rewards,

I think you are at least not a proper EA developer.

I’m not here to defend EA developers, but

there are aspects that many people aren’t consciously aware of,

so I’d like to speak frankly about reality.

EA developers’ products have

demonstrations on demo accounts or real accounts, etc.

anyway, the performance is quantified and published.

Sellers who don’t publish forward tests are out of the question,

and if you publish forwards, it’s standard to publish backtests as well.

Among them,

EA developers are almost exclusively merit-based.

No matter how fluent their talk is, if the results are bad, it’s no good,

and those results are immediately quantified and visible.
