Yesterday, I was able to skillfully catch a breakout to the upside, mainly in the cross currency pairs.

The take-profit point was expected to be far away, and since momentum faded by morning, taking profit once proved to be advantageous. Yesterday, there were many U.S. economic indicators released; how was your trading?

With the July U.S. retail sales report showing a higher-than-expected gain, dollar buying strengthened. In the market, expectations for a rate cut at the September FOMC are still kept, but the possibility of a large 50 basis point cut has markedly diminished, and the probability of a large cut in the short-term money market is said to be around 25%.

The soft landing expectations rose with the U.S. retail sales release yesterday, and stock gains supported USD/JPY from a lower level. With the Bank of Japan's additional rate hike expectations temporarily retreating, the focus will be on whether the 150-yen level can be recovered, or if selling pressure from the upside will win out.

Throughout August trades, I realize that staying calm and waiting patiently for my strong setups to arrive leads to profits. I will continue to spend time slowly, hoping for opportunities to break out.
