Obon how to spend
Geko here.
There may be people on summer vacation, but is everyone trading FX?
Even during this season the market is open, so the currency market moves to a reasonable extent,
and there is even a term like “summer doldrums,” which can lead to somewhat peculiar movement.
There are two choices to take in such times.
Trade
Do not trade
Basically, the EA I develop is tested with the idea of running year-round, based on past market data.
Therefore, whether to run such an EA or pause it is up to the operator's judgment.
If you are a discretionary trader, there may be people who excel in such market environments, but
if you happen to be on vacation and decide to trade on a whim, you might get chopped up and take a double punishment instantly.
In such times, “not trading” can also be a viable option.
What would you do if you don’t trade?
Would you sleep through it?
Since we have this opportunity, how about reflecting on your FX experience so far?
If you are a discretionary trader, you could review your past trades and think about future strategies,
If you are an EA trader, you could reconsider the portfolio of EAs you’re currently using,
or you could also perform maintenance on your computer to improve the operating environment.
Why not take another look in preparation for the upcoming period after the holidays?
