Learn Lines: The Basic Concept of Practicing "Line Trading"
The effectiveness of line trading comes from
traders around the world focusing on the same lines, so
you need to draw lines based on fundamental principles.
Drawing lines correctly yourself is
not very difficult,
but when you practice trading with the lines you drew yourself,
most beginners
cannot trust the lines they drew themselves,
and hesitate to proceed.
And,
one common pitfall after you start drawing lines is
to forcefully draw lines in any market,
and unknowingly begin drawing lines that only you, subjectively, can see.
Even if you draw lines based on fundamental principles,
many lines can be drawn,
but among them,
how many times the price faced resistance,
how long the price traded there,
determines the strength of the resistance of a line,
so you need to choose carefully.
The instinct of “majority rules” tends to gather around
a clean and easy-to-see ‘line’that stands out.
A line that is obvious to everyone and clearly effective
tends to attract more attention,
so its reaction is stronger and the momentum upon breakout is stronger.
In markets that everyone can recognize,
if strong price movement is possible,
focusing only on clear chart shapes
leads more easily to results.
This isthe essence of ‘Line Trading’, in my view.
