GogoJungle has an
“review feature” for EAs.
And
some people judge the quality of an EA by looking at these reviews, but
this can becomea misleadif you’re not careful.
This time,
we will provide examples from among them.
“Funds were halved”
This is a review often heard when the EA is underperforming in the short term.
However,
this alone does not reveal whether the EA is good or bad.
Because
it might be that the funds halved due to excessive risk taking as a risk management choice.
It is unknown how much funds and what lot size were used.
In my main EAs,
calculations show that if you don’t use at the edge of margin,
the funds would not halve.
Perhaps,
it wasn’t that the risk was excessive,
but that the settings might have been wrong to begin with.
If you don’t understand such things,
you cannot judge the EA’s quality from that review alone.
User opinions are important, but
the developers’ opinions, as primary sources, are also crucial.
In my case, I never distort facts with position-talk,
(because I must write every day)
