USD/JPY Dollar-Yen 2024: Turning to Buy at 156.10

・Tokyo morning: yen weak, dollar weak. As European session approaches, yen strengthens against the dollar. From New York to London fix, yen weakens against the dollar strengthens. NY close: yen weak, dollar strong.

・The USD/JPY balance shifted to buy at 156.10, EUR selling 1.0870, GBP selling 1.2770, AUD selling 0.6650, EUR/JPY selling 169.55, AUD/JPY selling 103.70, moving to an overnight position. Note: GBP/JPY selling at 199.20 was canceled.

・USD/JPY: no change in Bank of Japan bond purchase operation, at around 10:00 155.94. In comment by Finance Minister Suzuki, the phrase "intervention is restrained." From around 15:00 Tokyo time, expectations for BOJ bond buying ops to shrink led to a slight yen buying tilt. Upon entering NY, strong dollar on the employment report.

・Strongest against the dollar in order: GBP, AUD, EUR, JPY (based on intraday levels).
