Circle, founded in 2013, is one of the largest fundraising companies in the crypto market. Backers include Goldman Sachs and Bitmain, a leading mining company. According to the company, its crypto over-the-counter trading service, "Circle Trade," handles about $2 billion in trades per month.
Gupta left Goldman Sachs in 2011 after seven years, served as chief operating officer at trading company Volant, and then became VP of business development at the consumer loan startup MoneyLion. He joined Circle in September this year as head of business development and partnerships.
Gupta is expected to leverage his experience from Goldman’s electronic trading to seek new revenue streams across Circle’s corporate business lines.
