【SWELL】Former President Bill Clinton pointed out that “regulation blocks the growth of blockchain”
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton noted at Ripple’s Swell conference in San Francisco that new technologies like blockchain should be regulated to avoid evasion.
Clinton had been in the White House as his adviser, and he attended this conference invited by Gene Sperling, who sat on Ripple’s director side.
Clinton served as president from 1993 to 2001. He was one of the important figures at this conference, and last year, former Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke sat in Clinton’s seat.
Ethereum has announced various things in recent months. A few days ago, Ripple and other companies announced the formation of an organization called the Securing America’s Internet of Value Coalition (SAIV).
During the Q&A with Sperling, Clinton touched on a wide range of topics the U.S. government faces, including cybersecurity.
He also spoke about topics unrelated to fintech, such as gun control, foreign policy, and a recently released novel of his.
