【Backtest Analysis】
2007.01.02-2018.08.01
0.1 lot fixed
Spread 2 pips
Net profit: $9,801
Maximum drawdown: $637
Total trades: 3,109 (annual average: 240 trades)
Win rate: 55.5%
This yields an annual average profit of $770 (about 85,000 yen), and
The recommended margin per 0.1 lot is
(7.5) + (7*2) = 21.5
You can start with around 220,000 yen (assuming 1 USD = 110 JPY).
In terms of profitability,38%is the figure.
【Annual and Monthly Profit/Loss】
Looking at the yearly figures, 2008 has the best profits.
2011 is relatively lower.
The most recent five years show modest but steady profits.
When looking monthly, there isn't any particularly weak month; about 3 to 5 months per year may be negative.
Therefore, rather than focusing on monthly performance, this EA aims for total annual profit.
【InstaFX Series Comparison!】
It's a bit hard to read, though...
We compared official backtest data.
Profit per 0.1 lot is better with RainMaker (GBPJPY), but
the return relative to maximum drawdown is best for the original InstaFX.
RainMaker is,"win rate isn't very good, but there are many trades and the amount earned per trade is large"— that's its feature.
We compared the annual profits from backtests.
InstaFX (EURUSD) and InstaFX Relax (USDJPY) show ideal negative correlation in 2011 and 2014.
In terms of 2011 being weak, Relax (USDJPY) and RainMaker (GBPJPY) are similar, but
RainMaker tends to have relatively larger profits.
By the way, if you run all three EAs simultaneously,
each 0.1 lot can be operated from around 500,000 yen.
Breakdown is
Margin (USDJPY 4.5 + EURUSD 5.3 + GBPJPY 7.5) + Maximum drawdown {(3.3*2)+(5*2)+(7*2)} = 47.9
In that case, the annual average return is 54%, so the profitability is greatly improved compared with running RainMaker on GBPJPY alone.
Considering the margin for GBPJPY is relatively large (about 75,000 yen),
it might be good to double Relax's lot size and include InstaFX and Relax in the portfolio.
If you don't worry too much about margin, running all three simultaneously increases trading frequency and profits!
Which combination is best? How should the lot distribution be allocated?
Thinking about these is part of the portfolio's appeal.
Anyway, with a single position, the maximum drawdown is small, making it a very easy-to-operate series!
