“backtesting.”
So as a user
to “discern the goodness or badness of an EA,”
you need the skill of evaluating backtests.
In this series, therefore,
we will write about “how to find winning EAs from backtests.”
【About Total Profit and Total Loss】
This is not a point to particularly worry about, but
the total amount won in trading isTotal Profit,
the total amount lost in trading isTotal Loss,
which means
Total Profit ÷ Total Loss equals the Profit Factor.
Therefore,
you could just look at the Profit Factor,
but as will be explained later,
in fact the Profit Factor is completely unnecessary to pay attention to.
In this way,
backtests have many items to check, but
there are items to check from an EA selection perspective and items that are not,
and by grasping the key points
we hope you will be able to reach a better EA operation in the shortest possible time,
