Good aspects of EA operations (the double-ever of Reiwa era)

This is a Reiwa-era double-EA from the EA developer.

Today,“What’s good about operating an EA?”

that is the topic.

When people hear that, probably what comes to mind is...

“It trades automatically 24 hours a day even while you sleep.”

“It makes mechanical trades that humans can’t do.”

“It trades so many times that humans can’t.”

That’s likely what you think.

However, there is something even more important!

That is,

“The risk management capability!”

In other words,

“You can know the maximum possible loss of the EA.”

That’s right.

On a reputable EA listing site, there is a backtest.

And if truly legitimate, it is backtested with long periods and appropriate spread settings.

Among those, considering the maximum drawdown per listed lot (i.e., in pips),

each person can calculate their own risk tolerance and operate accordingly.

(Make sure you can perform that calculation yourself.)

If a discretionary trader can win, that’s wonderful,

and continuing to win is, personally, really enviable and cool.

However,

unlike EAs, you cannot monitor 24 hours a day,

EA has “big data” from backtests spanning up to 20+ years.

It enables long-term verification that discretionary traders often can’t achieve.

Occasionally,

there are “pseudo-discretionary traders,” but

what year did you say you’ve won in discretionary trading?

From the perspective of an EA developer doing long-term verification,

short-term wins can lead to people saying,

“I’ll teach the Holy Grail Trading☆.”

That may only be valid in the current market environment.

With EA, through objective data from backtests and forwards,

it’s possible to have risk management that can be valid over the long term.

Well, when I mainly traded discretionary before,

I used to monitor the charts until my eyes bled,

and calculated and analyzed with Excel for EMAs, etc.

That’s how I became an EA developer and began to understand the merits of EAs.
