EA development and cooking
I enjoy cooking,
and I’m not just a culinary expert
— I like to create new dishes from “leftovers in the fridge” and
make dishes that aren’t in any recipe.
I love creating new meals.
------
So I often compare EA development to cooking.
For example
the earlier statement about “making with leftovers from the fridge”
is not about
“I’ll make a hamburger, so go buy ground meat…”
or anything like that,
but rather
“creating dishes that can be made from leftovers in the fridge”
feels like
In other words“I want to make a trend-following EA, so I’ll use MA…”
is not the idea,
but rather
“analyze real charts and create the logic…”that’s the idea.
I create because I want to make ○○,
and this means
for example
on yesterday’s TV, they said onions help thin blood
so Minomonta said it
and I went to buy onions for hamburgers
but they were sold out and I couldn’t make it!
…and so on, which leads to inconveniences (mismatches with current market), a forced-feeling, unnaturalness.
In other words, it’s about basing it on realistic chart recognition
and letting imagination run…
to build the logic.
…it feels more natural and realistic.
If so, wouldn’t you be able to craft logic that better matches actual market conditions?
That’s the notion of “reproducibility.”
From the perspective of reproducibility,
the simpler the “cooking steps,” the easier it is to reproduce the same result many times.
If the steps are too complex, producing the same result repeatedly becomes difficult.
“Boil for a fraction of a second and drain a fractional percent of moisture, exactly at a certain temperature of the pan, and sauté within a specific number of seconds to get a delicious taste”
would make it hard to achieve the same flavor every time.
Reproducibility is about that.
So, to always be able to produce the same taste,
it’s better to keep things as simple as possible,
that’s the point.
That’s all for today!
