Dr. Neko's new release! Compare Pips_Miner (GBPUSD, EURAUD)
A version for another currency pair of the popular high-frequency trading EA “Pips_Miner” (for GBPUSD) has appeared!
It’s said to be for EUR/AUD—how does its performance stack up?!
Currency pair: [EUR/AUD]
Trading style: [Scalping]
Maximum number of positions: 3 Other: can be set arbitrarily below 10
Timeframe used: M15
Maximum stop loss: 100 (note: with modification orders, the max becomes 170 pips)
Take profit: 8 (note: with modification orders, the max becomes 78 pips)
Note: TP, SL …
Initial TP and SL are TP=8, SL=100.
However, to increase profitability,
around 5:45 AM, once,
a modified order will widen TP and SL by about 70 pips.
Therefore,
Max TP value is 78 pips,
Max SL value is 170 pips.
【Focus on trading time windows】
Entry time window is only 3 hourslong!
“With DST GMT=3” MT4,server time from 21:30–23:45 (Japan time roughly 3:30–5:45) only.
The position holding time, of course, lasts for several hours,
and they are typically settled within about 8 hours.
Since it operates only for about half of the day, you might feel it’s a waste, but
please try running multiple in a portfolio!
In terms of overlapping trading windows, the GBPUSD version of Pips_Miner may not be a candidate for simultaneous operation
; it may not be the case, though,
we compared performance since it is the same series
(Sorry for the blurry image)
In conclusion, Pips_Miner (GBPUSD) has about twice the number of trades and profits, and the maximum drawdown is also about twice.
The difference is that the EURAUD version has a smaller profit-to-loss ratio than the GBPUSD version, about 1:2.
Therefore, it features a safer, steadier design, less prone to big hits.
In terms of the recommended margin comparison
The EURAUD version requires 266,000 yen at 0.1 lot, whereas
the GBPUSD version is
(7*3) + (8.7*2) = 38.4 (ten-thousand yen)
This is the figure.
The GBPUSD version calls for a higher recommended margin, but considering profits and number of trades, the GBPUSD version performs better overall.
【Portfolio Profit and Loss Comparison】
If you consider trading time and capital efficiency, perhaps integrating other types of EAs would be better?!
I think so.
However, GBPUSD also carries Brexit-related risk, so given currency risk, diversifying across various currency pairs is prudent!
There are other new works by Dr. Cat as well, so I’d like to compare them again next time.
With a low maximum drawdown and the potential for stable profits with PF2 or higher,
EURAUD version Pips_Miner!
