To profit from contrarian trading, one must "think deeply and cut losses"; to profit from trend-following, one must "continue to accept losses."
Both have weaknesses
Both have disadvantages
But both have advantages
There is an option to handle both trend-following and counter-trend strategies,
but that is geared toward intermediate traders and can develop into strengths and weaknesses
It is absolutely better to choose whether to use “trend-following” or “counter-trend”
Trend-following will not succeed immediately,
but when a trending market comes,
your past losses can start to grow as if they were lies
Conversely, for counter-trend,
there are many traders who cannot admit losses
and even so, traders who cannot become aggressive with trend-following
tend to have overall profitability that is hard to call substantial or increasing
Trend-following yields profits only when you trade aggressively
To that end, increasing the number of trading opportunities helps profits grow
The market does not move flexibly
Each has its own disadvantages,
but if you can counter them,
you can grow your capital with either method
