A strategy that simply follows the trend somewhat, rather than a thoroughly contrarian approach, can be increased more.
In books that are commonly described as market aphorisms
(especially older highly regarded trading books)
they declare a contemplative system, but
deliberate contrarian approaches
are inferior to strategies that simply follow the trend
because the market proves it
when you look at the market, the trend clearly has the upper hand
yet real markets are full of noise
to act according to the depiction of past markets
it is inevitably necessary to "continue following the trend"
continuing contrarian strategies is not validated
contrarian strategies are a wonderful way to increase capital in the short term, but
they are disadvantageous in the long-term market
because in a trending market, only stop-losses continue until the trend occurs
it easily leads to a feeling of "gambling"
and thoughts drift away from being investment-minded
even so, those who endure the mental strain
and continue, can meet a trending market
and successfully grow capital by continuing to profit
there is an obvious premise that "if you just follow the trend you will win,"
yet many traders do not because the preceding drawbacks mentally wear them down
however, with the mental resilience to overcome that,
those who casually keep following the trend can become renowned as traders
