What I think about contrarian trading
If you can time it to short against the trend perfectly, it would be the strongest, of course
But such convenient success with counter-trend moves only happens in relatively safe markets
In markets other than those, counter-trend is not that reliable
The counter-trend market that looks good in hindsight tends not to become a price range suitable for counter-trend at the same time
If you are going to counter-trend, it is meaningless unless you trade with a truly ultra-low lot
No matter how much you observe the market
Even if you think the trend will reverse and you switch directions, profits only rise a little and then quickly reverse back
If the long-term trend changes and you switch, you’ll fail
There’s practically no such thing as support and resistance
In the end, trading like that yields profits that stay constant and the overall gains don’t come
In other words, even with ultra-low lot, you’ll lose if you don’t have unlimited funds
If you had unlimited funds, doing Martingale in the trend-following would eventually be more profitable
