The previous month revised from 164,000 to 159,000 slightly downward, but overall positive.
The United States is near full employment, and the unemployment rate, forecast at 3.9%, came in at 3.8% and is good. The average hourly earnings, which has been the focus since the previous year, was expected to increase by 0.2% but rose 0.3%, which is a positive result. Overall, it was clearly a positive outcome, but when it came to trading, the USD/JPY did not rise as much as expected despite a solid floor, and although it rose gradually, due to no price movement before the ISM release, I closed the trade midway as a SQ.
Today the price action was unusually calm, so during a mid-session break from the US payroll trade, I enjoyed Morozawa Bibim Men and Koiwai Farm Florentines.
Perhaps because this year’s luck at the omikuji (fortune slip) was great, as of today’s win, the year's payroll trading record stands at 6 trades, 5 wins for US payroll since the beginning of the year, so I'm hopeful for next month as well.
