Among the many moving averages, in an uptrend,

there exists a line that acts effectively as asupport line during Pullbacks of a certain width.

Additionally, in a downtrend,

there exists a line that acts effectively as aresistance line at retracementsof a certain width.

In other words, if in an uptrend you break below the support line, a downtrend begins, and

in a downtrend, if you break above the resistance line without bouncing, an uptrend begins.

Thus,the support and resistance lines become turning lines.

This concept also applies to indicators.
