Among the many moving averages, in an uptrend,

there is a line that acts as asupport line that works effectively as asupport line of a certain widthrange.

Also, in a downtrend,

there exists a line that serves effectively as aresistance line with a certain widthrange.

In other words, if in an uptrend you break a support line without stopping, a downtrend begins, and

in a downtrend, if you break above a resistance line without being bounced, an uptrend begins.

Support and resistance lines become turning lines.

This concept also applies to indicators.
