Among the many moving averages, in an uptrend,

there is a certain width line thatacts effectively as a support line during pullbacks and serves as a steady supportline.

Also, in a downtrend,

there areresistance lines that function effectively ascertain width lines for pullbacks.

In other words, if in an uptrend the price breaks below a support line without stopping, a decline begins, and

in a downtrend, if the price goes beyond a resistance line without being bounced back, an ascent begins.

In short,support and resistance lines become turning lines.

This concept also applies to indicators.
