Among many moving averages, in an uptrend,

there are certain幅s that act effectively as a pullback support lineas the cutoff level.

Also, in a downtrend,

there are certain幅 lines that function effectively as the retracement resistance line.

In other words, if in an uptrend the price breaks below the support line, the downtrend begins, and

if in a downtrend the price breaks above and is not bounced by the resistance line, an uptrend begins.

In short,the support/resistance lines become turning lines.

This idea also applies to indicators.
