An article currently掲載 in Toyo Keizai ONLINE: The trigger to start winning
Good morning, this is Matsushima.
Yesterday's NY Dow fell again,
attention also on the stock prices of S&P 500 and Nasdaq.
USD/JPY stayed in the same range.
NY Gold had a slight rebound.
For individual investors who have been losing,
there is indeed a moment when they can turn from loss to profit,
and start accumulating gains.
One of those moments is a \"success experience.\"
What I mean by a success experience here is
not merely something like “I made a profit of several hundred thousand yen,”
a profit-earning experience,
but the experience of achieving a move in price and trading as you imagined
and making a profit,
an opportunity to execute trades precisely as you aimed
in your mind.
For me,
in September of a certain year, selling red beans in the commodity market
became my first success experience.
As the price of red beans began to fall from a high level,
and I sensed a transition to a downtrend,
I waited for a pullback and for another drop from the rebound
to occur.
When the price movement I had waited for repeated itself before my eyes,
I felt anxious that I was late in selling by one day, but
I sold the red beans.
The next day there was a slight rebound,
and although I had an unrealized loss,
the following day it started to drop sharply,
and continued to fall for another month from there.
It was the moment I first rode the trend.
My first success experience was a
After confirming that the profits had sufficiently extended,
I took profits, but
the price soon began to decline again.
Without hesitation,
I initiated another short sale,
and for about another half month
continued to widen the profit.
That first success experience was
also a successful experience in chasing with follow-up sells.
To this day I still vividly remember the price movement of that time of red beans.
At that time, I was at the bottom as an investor,
and my account balance was the最低 of 160,000 yen.
In this state, the profit I earned from red bean trading
combined from the two trades above amounted to
110,000 yen.
For me, that 110,000 yen profit became
the start of the subsequent revival and all profits thereafter.
Even though it was just 110,000 yen,
it became the trigger for my winning over more than ten years afterward.
This trade was the starting point for my long-term success.
For individual investors to grow into profitable investors,
a success experience is necessary.
And that success experience
is not something that happens by chance,
but a well-targeted trade realized by your will and choices,
a deliberate trade.
Keep that in mind as the core and
continue to trade with clear aims.
When you realize that trade,
you will
understand how to earn profits by,
putting the act of profiting into your body.
That becomes the moment you win.
